KidSafe Campaign

Protection is Prevention.

Child Sexual Abuse is a Public Health Crisis

The statistics are sobering.

  • Every 9 minutes a child is a victim of sexual abuse.
  • 1 in 10 children will be sexually exploited by the age of 18.
  • 90% of children who are sexually abused are abused by someone they know and trust.

60% of child victims of sexual abuse never tell anyone.

Preventing Child Sexual Abuse

To tackle a public health crisis, you need a public health approach that works.

We're in the business of changing the trajectory of lives and stopping these statistics from becoming a reality.

Every adult in a child's life has the power to keep them safe. It is important for adults to learn how to communicate safety awareness and skills to children. When we foster an open discussion with our children, students, and kids in our care, we teach them that coming to a trusted adult will protect them.

Through KidSafe, we are building the capacity of adults who work and live with children to keep them safe, with education that is reaching over 15,000 adults each year in Palm Beach County, Florida, and around the nation!

Stay KidSafe!™ is a engaging curriculum designed to prevent child sexual abuse, human trafficking, and exploitation.

In our mission to stop child sexual abuse, we are committed to keeping our online curriculum FREE for any teacher or school. Our efforts to implement this training in classrooms and organizations throughout Palm Beach County is supported by donors and foundations.

How do you support a child who has been traumatized?

Discussing child sexual abuse can feel overwhelming and emotional, but learning how to respond to a child's disclosure about abuse in a trauma-informed way can buffer the impact, supporting the child's safety and well-being. We offer an array of resources to help parents and caregivers have these difficult conversations.

Effective Trauma Treatment for Children and Families

Through our programs, we provide treatment for children and teens, including Play Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and other evidence-based interventions that promote coping and healing.

Our staff are learning cutting-edge treatment models through experts like Dr. Paris Goodyear-Brown and Dr. Eliana Gil. Dr. Gil is an internationally renowned lecturer, author, and clinician in the traumatic stress field, with specializations in the areas of child and family play therapies and the assessment and treatment of child sexual abuse.

We are deeply grateful to have Dr. Gil, a resident in our community, volunteering her time to train our mental health specialists and therapists.

Every child deserves to grow up protected, safe, and loved. You make it possible.
