The Awards
The Judge Ron Alvarez Resiliency Award
The Judge Ron Alvarez Resiliency Award, named in honor of the pioneering legal mind Judge Ron Alvarez, recognizes those in the legal system who are advocates for a more comprehensive understanding of the science of adversity. The recipient works tirelessly to promote a trauma-informed approach to legal practice, making our legal system more compassionate and equitable for vulnerable children and families.
In 2019, the award was given to Judge Alvarez at our Family Law Mental Health Summit, honoring his compassionate and trauma-informed and approach within the juvenile court system. Judge Alvarez was trauma-informed before most of us knew what it meant, making a profound impact on the lives of thousands of children in Palm Beach County. We are deeply honored that his wife, Elaine, will allow us to continue honoring his legacy with this award.
