General Play

Almost any activity can be turned into a game that’s fun!

Play is often considered the language of childhood—a medium through which children express themselves, explore their emotions, and make sense of their world.

As long as they feel connected to you as a caregiver, almost any time spent with a child can be made to feel like fun.

Remember that as you play, your child is looking to you to provide an example they can copy. It’s very important that the adults in a child’s life set good values of honesty, fairness, good sportsmanship, sharing, taking turns, and being kind that their child can model.

In partnership with Sesame Street, we are pleased to share some of their great ideas for play and fun activities for young children.

The video below from the Association for Play Therapy discusses the value of play and Play Therapy.
