School-Based Mental Health
Meeting children where they are — bringing therapy, support, and healing directly into the schools where they learn and grow every day.
Through our partnership with the School District of Palm Beach County and other schools across the county, Center for Child Counseling provides trauma-informed, HOPE-centered mental health services in elementary, middle, and high schools — eliminating barriers and reaching children who might otherwise never access the care they need.
Therapy happens at school — no transportation, no missed work for parents, no barriers to getting help.
Our cooperative agreement allows us to serve students at any public school in Palm Beach County, plus charter and private schools.

Working Together for Every Student
Center for Child Counseling partners with the School District of Palm Beach County, as well as charter and private schools, to bring mental health services directly to students — removing barriers and reaching children in the places where they spend their days.
Through our cooperative agreement with the School District of Palm Beach County, Center for Child Counseling can provide therapy and mental health services at any public school in the county — elementary, middle, or high school. This countywide access means no child is out of reach.
In addition, our co-located services model places dedicated therapists directly in elementary schools, with on-site play therapy rooms where children can receive consistent, relationship-based care from a trusted adult who becomes part of their school community. These therapists aren't visitors — they're woven into the fabric of the school.
We also serve students at charter and private schools across the county, ensuring that all children — regardless of where they attend school — have access to the mental health support they need.
Our school-based services are grounded in the HOPE framework, A Way of Being with Children, and evidence-based practices — because every interaction with a student is an opportunity to build safety, connection, and resilience.

Dedicated CFCC therapists are embedded in elementary schools with on-site play therapy rooms — providing consistent, weekly therapy for students as a trusted member of the school community.
Through our cooperative agreement, CFCC therapists travel to any public, charter, or private school in the county to provide therapy — meeting students wherever they are.
Therapy & Support at School
Our school-based therapists provide a full range of trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health services — meeting students during the school day in a setting that feels safe and familiar.
Many of the children we serve in schools are dealing with the effects of adverse childhood experiences. Understanding their story changes how we respond.
"How we show up for a child matters more than any single program or technique. It begins with presence, empathy, and the belief that every child can heal."
— Renée Layman, President & CEOGrounded in HOPE and A Way of Being
Every interaction with a student is an opportunity to build positive childhood experiences. Our school-based therapists are trained in the HOPE framework and A Way of Being with Children — ensuring that every session, every check-in, and every moment of connection promotes safety, resilience, and healing.
