SUMMARY:Termination in Play Therapy
DESCRIPTION:Online\, On-Demand Workshop \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Termination is a crucial aspect of any therapy process and can be difficult for both client and therapist. However\, when done successfully\, the end of therapy can be a positive experience with a long-lasting impact on both the client and therapist. Termination of therapy is an opportunity for closure and for the client and therapist to review the personal growth that has unfolded over the course of treatment. \nTermination of services with children in a Play Therapy setting can also be more challenging as children may experience termination differently compared to adult or teenage clients due to multiple factors including but not limited to their developmental stage\, past and current experiences\, environmental factors\, and relationships they have with other adults in their lives. The termination process can be particularly difficult and triggering for child clients who have experienced prior loss\, trauma\, or other adverse life experiences. Termination may bring up feelings related to these past adverse or traumatic experiences\, especially prior experiences with loss and grief. \nTherapeutic work with children should always involve working with caregivers of the children. Therefore\, terminating the therapy process includes terminating the relationship with the client and the client’s caregivers. Play Therapists\, even if only working with younger individuals\, should have the knowledge and skills to successfully end the therapy process with both children and adults. \nObjectives \n\n   * Describe the importance of proper termination in Play Therapy.\n   * Identify procedures of ending the Play Therapy experience.\n   * Explain the process of terminating therapeutic relationship between clients and therapists in the playroom.\n   * List at least 3 termination activities to use in Play Therapy.\n\n\n\n\n\nCost: $25 (1 hour play therapy non-contact APT CE and 1 State of Florida CEU included). Student discounts are available: Please email us with your name\, school\, and a request for a 30% student discount code. Note: Play Therapy credit may not be awarded to non-mental health professionals. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nUpon registration\, you will have 30 days of 24/7 on-demand access to the workshop. \n\n\n\nAbout the Presenter \n\n\n\nNida Paul\, LMHC\, NCC\, RPT-S \n\n\n\nNida Paul is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor\, National Certified Counselor\, and Registered Play Therapist who has worked with children and families since 2010\, with a primary focus on working with young children and their parents\, caregivers\, and families. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNida received her Master’s of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and has training in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT)\, Group Play Therapy\, Infant Mental Health\, Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP)\, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)\, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  \n\n\n\nIn addition to her role as the Director of the Childcare and Community Social-Emotional Wellness (CCSEW) Program for several years\, Nida was a supervisor within Center for Child Counseling’s Education and Prevention Services overseeing interns and providing Play Therapy and Trauma-Informed Care training around Palm Beach County and the state. \n\n\n\nNida is passionate about working with children and families who experienced trauma and helping them heal – and sharing her knowledge and experience through training others in the field. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCenter for Child Counseling is approved by the Association for Play Therapy\, APT Approved Provider #09-263. SUMMARY:The Power of the Parent-Teacher Relationship
DESCRIPTION:Online\, On-Demand Workshop \n\n\n\nBoth parents and teachers play a vital role in educating a child. Parents are children’s first teacher as they teach children essential life and academic skills while providing love and support. Effective communication is essential for building school-family partnerships. It constitutes the foundation for all other forms of family involvement in education. \n\n\n\nJoin us for this 30-minute online training to explore the benefits of building parent-teacher relationship\, as well as different ways of communicating with parents.  \n\n\n\nThis training is designed for parents\, caregivers\, teachers\, and school personnel.  \n\n\n\nIn this training\, you will learn about: \n\n\n\n\nBenefits of building parent-teacher relationship\n\n\n\nDifferent ways of communicating with parents\n\n\n\nTechniques and strategies to communicate more effectively with parents to build strong relationships with them\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nATTENTION: Palm Beach County parents\, teachers\, and caregivers: Use the CODE: AWOPBC to waive the fee! \n\n\n\nA special thank you to the Florida Blue Foundation\, Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County\, and Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County for supporting this training for teachers\, and educators in Palm Beach County. SUMMARY:Promoting Engagement for Withdrawn Children
DESCRIPTION:Online\, On-Demand Workshop \n\n\n\nThe child within the home or classroom that is often noticed first or identified for needing extra help and support is the outgoing\, loud\, active\, intense\, and aggressive child. \n\n\n\nThese are children whose behaviors show their wants\, needs\, and emotional states – and it’s often easy to identify and intervene as needed. Children who are quieter or more subdued in social settings are typically more unassuming\, cautious\, and careful. They are the ones who are sometimes overlooked as needing extra help or support. They tend to follow rules and cause less disruptions. \n\n\n\nAdults and teachers often perceive them as anxious\, frightened\, or quiet and reserved. They are less inclined to initiate interaction or take command of a situation\, however this way of being also has incredible benefits and potential. \n\n\n\nJoin us for this important training to explore engagement with the withdrawn child as well as tips and techniques to ensure that the interactions are positive and beneficial. \n\n\n\nThis training is designed for parents\, caregivers\, teachers\, and school personnel.  \n\n\n\nIn this training\, you will learn about: \n\n\n\n\nContributing reasons for withdrawn behaviors\n\n\n\nPotential concerns/challenges and warning signs when a child is withdrawn\n\n\n\nTips and techniques to encourage engagement\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nATTENTION: Palm Beach County parents\, teachers\, and caregivers: Use the CODE: AWOPBC to waive the fee! \n\n\n\nA special thank you to the Florida Blue Foundation\, Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County\, and Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County for supporting this training for teachers\, and educators in Palm Beach County. SUMMARY:Healing the Healers: Creating Happy\, Healthy Healers and a Happy\, Healthy Workforce
DESCRIPTION:Virtual\, On-Demand Workshop \n\n\n\nFeeling stressed? … Burnt-out? … Overworked? \n\n\n\nThere is a saying: “You can’t pour from an empty cup…” If you consider yourself a healer or helper and you constantly GIVE – now it is your time to TAKE! Refill your cup now. \n\n\n\n We care about you! \n\n\n\nThis 4-hour training is designed to address the stress and various challenges faced by helpers and healers in the medical\, mental\, and behavioral health professions. The training teaches self-care and resilience building strategies\, particularly important as helpers and healers during the COVID-19 crisis showed alarming rates of anxiety\, depression\, PTSD\, and even suicide. Unfortunately\, the impact is expected to worsen once the crisis is over as an aftermath of collective trauma. \n\n\n\nBurnout is defined as a long-term reaction to occupational stress which involves\, particularly\, the helping professions. The burnout epidemic is detrimental to client care and may exacerbate the mental health professionals shortage we are experiencing. Burnout can be caused by secondary trauma\, compassion fatigue\, stress or moral injury. According to several studies\, it appears that up to 67% of mental health workers may be experiencing high levels of burnout\, with the significant impact of COVID yet to be determined. \n\n\n\nThe pandemic has impacted mental health on a broad scale. Leading mental health researchers and professionals anticipated an ‘echo pandemic’ after the physical pandemic passed\, and we are seeing increased incidences of depression\, anxiety\, and suicide\, escalating the demand for healers and helpers who are supported and mentally healthy themselves to serve our communities . \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives Include: \n\n\n\n\nDefining the Role of a Healer/ Helper\n\n\n\nTypes and Causes of Stress\n\n\n\nBiology and Physiology of Stress\n\n\n\nExploring ACEs & Their Relationship to Stress and Well-Being\n\n\n\nImpacts of Stress\n\nBurnout\n\n\n\nVicarious Trauma\n\n\n\nCompassion Fatigue\n\n\n\nChallenges Faced by Specific Groups of Helpers/Healers\n\n\n\n\n\nCOVID-19 and the Impact on Helpers/Healers\n\n\n\nSelf-Care & Resilience Building\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCenter for Child Counseling is approved through the Florida Board of Licensed Clinical Social Workers\, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists\, and Licensed Mental Health Providers #50-11511.
