SUMMARY:ACEs\, Trauma & Toxic Stress
DESCRIPTION:In the absence of protective relationships\, toxic stress in childhood impacts an individual’s well-being across the lifetime. \n\n\n\nThis 90-minute workshop provides an overview of the ACE study\, trauma\, toxic stress and the impact on health. Resilience and building a trauma-informed approach is also explored. \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives \n\n\n\nParticipants will learn: \n\n\n\n\nAbout the ACE study\, including outcomes and findings;\n\n\n\nDefinition of toxic stress and its impact on the developing brain in early childhood and throughout the lifespan;\n\n\n\nImpact of early adversity on lifelong health\, mental and physical;\n\n\n\nThe importance of creating trauma-informed and resilience-building practices based on the findings of the ACEs research.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis training is sponsored by United Way of Palm Beach County. \n\n\n\nVirtual Workshop
